What techniques are used in making code Y2K compliant?
Conversion of date fields and date data to full 4-digit format is the only complete and permanent solution. Window techniques using fixed and sliding windows requires insertion of new date processing logic but has limitations, e.g. does not work with date stamping. Some solution providers automate the insertion of 2-digit encoding/compression in the data so that they use the same amount of storage space, but still allow for four digit dates.
