What the difference between a skunk and a polecat?
Polecat is a name used to describe many things: Polecat is a term used in the common name of some species of weasel (e.g. European polecat, marbled polecat, steppe polecat). Polecat is a colloquial term used to refer to some members of the Mephitidae family, (e.g.skunk), that can spray a foul smelling secretion from enlarged anal glands when threatened.
