What time does school start where you are? Is it oo early? Too late? Or just right?
I recently retired from being the Guidance Director at a high school in Maine. The first period started at 7:45 — way too early for teenagers. There are many studies about the nocturnal nature of teenagers. They should have a late start for school. I was doing research on this because we had so many students either late or not attending. A lot of them said that it was too early for them. Some great articles why high schools should start later: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/01/09/AR2006010901561.html http://www.centerforpubliceducation.org/site/c.kjJXJ5MPIwE/b.1502015/k.947C/Latestart_ high_schools_at_low_cost_in_Arlington_Va_Public_Schools.htm Copy and paste this one because half of it will not show up.
