What to expect from first appointment with cardiologist?
Same as, I’m in the midlands and meet with a great cardiologist in MRH M/gar. He had a great talk with me 1st to sum up what had happened, when it started, how much it happens, how I felt when it was happening and you’ll get an ECG. Then came the tests which they send you out so probably not on the same day as your consult, Echo: Ultrasound of the heart, Exercise stress test: On a thread mill and hooked up to an ECG machine. Holter monitor: like an ECG in your pocket for 24hrs or longer depending. After all the tests the cardiologist will decide what is the next step if any. Myself I got sent to James Connelly in Blanch to a team of Electro physiologists, I’m also a public patient. Have to add that all the doctors I have seen are very good and will not fob you off.
