Such a delicate matter should be handled in-person or with a conversation. Often times, the slated wake and funeral will be posted in the local newspaper or a contact name/number will be listed. If this person wished their passing to be celebrated (ie. they know they're moving on to heaven and peace with God) then you could address an invitation as you would any other celebration. Though it seems odd that someone might want their passing celebrated, think of them and how they'd want their friends and family to view their passing on. Please join us as we remember and celebrate the life of name here. Then say where and when. I don't think you need to make it a death notice, including how they died. When they find out about the funeral, they will be in contact and find this stuff out. I am sorry for your loss. May God be with you and your family during this time, and always. ... more
