What toys should i buy for my 12 week old cockatiel?
Actually, I would suggest against the Mirror. A hormonal bird will fall in love with its own reflection. Now your 12 week old cockatiel is far from old enough to becoming hormonal, however, it is possible that he/she will be more interested with this “new friend”, and since he is new and doesn’t know you well yet, you probably want to be his only friend for now, so that he bonds with you and not the mirror. Since your bird is young, I would suggest a wide variety of toys, to get him used to different things. A toy with bells is always fun to shake around, and a toy to chew and destroy is also something most cockatiels love. This can be something as cheap as strips of paper put into the cage, or as elaborate as huge toys with thread, beads, weaved willow, etc. Go look in your local petstore for suggestions.
