What type of academic benefits will the Knight Center offer?
The existing buildings had 29 lecture, seminar, and breakout rooms. Plans are to have 77 of these instructional rooms available at the new site. The new buildings will allow 25-30 square feet per student in all our instructional spaces as opposed to the former 17 square feet per person. The Knight Center classrooms also have movable seating to increase flexibility. We will gain 80,000 square feet of space within the new buildings. In addition, the flexible spaces allow for smaller classrooms and breakout rooms to align with the way professors closely interact with students, and for future modifications, if needed.
