What type of aftercare is recommended?
The patient can expect to stay in hospital for a few days. The recommended aftercare is the same as the aftercare recommended in conventional ACT. The weight should be kept off the joint for about 2-6 weeks, depending on the indication. After that, walking with crutches is recommended. After about 6 months, the patient can resume gentle sporting activities such as jogging and cycling. After 12 months, even sports which strain the joints, such as football, tennis and ice hockey can be played.
