What type of bits do Quarter Horses use?

You dont just use a bit because most arabs use them, or most whatever breed uses them. You get bits according to what you show, your horses training level etc. I ONLY use ported bits when im showing western pleasure… ever. even then i use low ports because i can’t even imagine how painful a highport could be. And when i say i show in western pleasure i only neck rein with that bit, i never ever have any contact with my horses mouth using harsh bits. Depending on what bit the old owner used, you could use that kind. I like to evaluate and try out all my bits on my horses and see if they do well in them. So experiement with bits, Start out with mild bits such as snaffles etc. hacks. etc here are some bits you may want to try: http://www.statelinetack.com/itemdy00.as… http://www.statelinetack.com/itemdy00.as…

I use a copper french link snaffle on my super downhill, super heavy quarter horse and it works really well.
