Scooby Doo is a Great Dane, much like Marmaduke (but don’t mention this around Scooby).

His nephew is Scrappy Doo and he has a cousin named Scooby Dum. He is also good friends with Dynomutt–the dog wonder. 

Scooby Doo was born in 1969 on the CBS studios’ lot. He looks good for his age. Must be the poor cartoon animation. Who ever heard of a bow legged and double-chinned Great Dane?
