I know the 68 took Dextron II or compatable. Dextron IV should work. That is for the torque converter only. There is no specific drain plug for the ATF fluid in the torque converter – you DO have to completely remove the torque converter to drain it via the hole in the middle used by the drive shaft. Since the ATF is used only as a pumping fluid, not a lubricating fluid, it doesn’t need changing at regular intervals. But it it’s looking grey and tired, you can freshen it up by replacing just the amount in the reserviour bottle on the right side (under the fender). You may be able to get a little more out by removing the lines from the rearmost part of the double oil pump too (that’s the ATF fluid pump section). The GEARBOX oil needs replacing just the same as the manual gearbox (they are the same box, except the semi-auto has no 1st gear – the other ratios are the same as 2, 3, 4 and rev).
