What type of travel adapter will I need for Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia (travelling from UK)?
I lived in Kenya for a few years (will be moving back in a year) and have done a substantial amount of travelling in Tanzania as well. Coming from the UK, I do not see much problems with your electronics in these countries. I came from Canada and even I did not have much dificulty. Most electronics that you might be travelling with usually operate on a rechargable battery that recharges by pluggin in the unit. The fact that the charge is put into a battery before it reaches the device even protects the device from any electrical surges that can be typical in their electric systems. Usually their is a converter in the middle of the chord with most electronics, or in the rechargable device or the plug head and this will tell you its acceptable range of currents. For most items that people travel with you can actually plug it directly into most country’s current without ill effect. To find this, look fo where it says input and it will usually say 100 – 240V 0.8A 47-63hz or something like
