What types of atomic bombs exist?
There are two types of nuclear bombs. The first that were created are Fission bombs. These produce their explosive power through nuclear fission. The energy released by these bombs ranges between a ton of TNT to 500.000 tons. The second type, called “thermonuclear bombs”, produces energy through nuclear fusion reactions. Only six countries all over the world have detonated one of this. These bombs can release the energy equivalent to 50 million tons of TNT.
