What types of encryption are available in PKZIP/SecureZIP for i5/OS?

0

All i5/OS products include standard PKZIP encryption (96-bit). In SecureZIP, PKWARE has implemented Advanced Encryption Standard (AES 128, AES 192, AES 256), DES, 3DES, and RC4 algorithms for added security and performance. SecureZIP for i5/OS Enterprise Edition can encrypt data for security control with digital certificates and/or passwords. SecureZIP for i5/OS Standard Edition provides strong passphrase-based encryption. Additional security features included are: • Selectable encryption methods • Filename encryption • Password masking • Manageable password lengths at the enterprise level (1 to 200 characters) • Cipher block chaining when any of the AES algorithms are used • Contingency key or master recipient On systems running V5R3 or higher, SecureZIP v10.0.x also has the ability to utilize IBM’s cryptographic APIs, which, in some cases, may provide better performance.
