What types of energy does a microwave use?

0

The microwaves are produced by a generator called a magnetron that is powered by electricity. The reason the microwave energy cannot ‘escape’ the microwave (even through the little holes in the window screen!) is because the waves cannot ‘fit’ through the holes in the metal screen, and the microwaves are blocked by the metal in general. The concept of them ‘fitting’ through the holes is a bit more complicated than just that, but that is essentially how it works.
