What types of food and dishes do people eat in south africa?

There are various cultures in South Africa which means that the foodstuffs and cooking styles vary enormously. The traditional meals would include meat stews (the beef is excellent quality over there, Ostrich is also very good as are the venison) served with a mealie-meal porridge (made from sweetcorn), barbecues are extremely popular over there, stews containing groundnuts (peanuts) are a;so common. The Dutch were amongst the early settlers in SA and their influence means there are also plenty of Dutch and Indonesian style dishes such as satay kebabs, mild fruity curry dish called Bobotie, lamb and apricot spiced kebabs, a type of sausage called Boerevors (spiced with cinnamon) etc etc. The food is good there, plenty of space and the right climate means that there is no shortage of good meat and vegetables and fruit.
