What Types of Grants Does the CBF Award?
The CBF’s grants ensure access to justice for tens of thousands of low-income and disadvantaged Chicago area residents in most critical need of the protections of our civil legal system and also strengthen our community’s pro bono and legal aid system for the longer term. The CBF’s grants provide critical and consistent general operating support for pro bono and legal aid organizations in our community and support a number of innovative special projects and systemic initiatives. The CBF has five (5) main types of grants: 1) Organizational Support (general operating support by application) 2) Advancing Justice (project-based support by application) 3) Special Projects (project-based support initiated by the CBF) 4) Fellowships and Scholarships (by application) 5) Other Grants (initiated by the CBF).
