Songs that have a call and response theme to them is a great way for encouraging language and communication. An I sing, then you sing sort of activity. Also, fill in the blank sort of songs are great. A common one is B-I-N-G-O, or Old Macdonald, where they tell you the animals and that sounds they make. All musical activities are amazing for language and communication. Be sure as you do activities, to LABEL everything the child is doing (and you are doing). Lisa is tapping, Aiden is rolling, Michael is jumping… label is a GREAT way to faciliate and ignite communication. Hope that helps!!!
