A. The JEMSTAR supports a binary communications protocol developed by AMETEK for the JEMSTAR meter. This is the standard communications protocol the meter is sold with. The JEMREAD program, only available through AMETEK, is designed to retrieve register and load profile data from the JEMSTAR meter , as well as AMETEK’s JEM 1(EXJ register only), JEM 2, and JEM 10 meter families. JEMRead is Win 95, Win98, and Win2000 compatible. JEMRead is designed to retrieve data from a single, or group of meters, and export the data to “.CSV” file format, easily recognized by most spreadsheet applications. Utility Translation Services/Itron has also developed a program for retrieving data from the JEMSTAR meter. Please contact UTS/Itron directly for more information. The JEMSTAR also supports 3 optional communications protocols, MODBUS, DNP 3.0, and ASCII Tables. Each of these protocols was developed and/or is administered by groups not affiliated with AMETEK.
