What useful substance does the blood take in from the intestine?

In fact every thing we eat is taken by the blood from the intestine…carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, water, alcohol and even all the orally taken drugs and some times the unwanted toxic substances like DDT and other insecticides and every thing else, are absorbed by the alimentary canal. By alimentary canal, I mean that even right from the mouth, cheeks, under the tongue your absorption starts, all the way down the gullet, stomach, small intestines, large intestines right up to your anus (yes, a large amount of water is absorbed right from your rectum).
