What version of the GEDCOM standard does Ancestral Author support? What genealogy programs has it been tested with?

Ancestral Author supports Revision 5.5, the latest revision of the GEDCOM standard. In practice, it will read earlier revision GEDCOM files, but the algorithm it uses to extract source information works best if the GEDCOM is in 5.5 format. For a comprehensive list of GEDCOM tags supported by Ancestral Author, click here. Ancestral Author has been tested with Brothers Keeper 5.x, 6.0, PAF 5.1.12, The Master Genealogist Gold Edition 4.0, Family Tree Maker, and Family Historian. It will work with any genealogy program that can export standard GEDCOM files. If you’re not sure it will work on your own GEDCOM, download a trial version of Ancestral Author, and give it a spin.
