What was a typical meal in the mid 1800s in New England?
Near the coast seafood and lobster were very popular because they were very affordable- there actually was a law in Boston saying that you can’t feed your servants lobster more than 3 times a week (I’m not sure about the exact number, but I think it’s 3). However, serving lobster today can get really expensive, so maybe you can do something that features lobster as an ingredient, not as the main dish. Since a lot of the people in that area were of English descent, many of the dishes were still influenced by traditional English dishes-stews, game, traditional pies. Cranberries are native to New England, and were very popular (they still are), as were blueberries.
