What was communism and how did stalin become leader of Russia??
Lenin died unexpectedly. At the time, his chief lieutenant was Trotsky. I believe that Stalin was security chief. The story is that: Trotsky was ill from over-work and on a train to a vacation area when Lenin died suddenly. Stalin sent Trotsky a lying telegram saying that Lenin’s funeral would be delayed for a least a week due to autopsy and would be private. Stalin said that Trotsky had plenty of time to complete his vacation. But Stalin rushed the preparations and held the funeral in only three days — while Trotsky was out of town. Making the main speech himself, Stalin suddenly looked like the leader and other Party officials permitted him to appoint ‘temporary’ ministers to take charge of key areas. These men were loyal to Stalin and soon became permanent. Trotsky was vilified by Stalin for not attending the funeral and then other, probably false, charges were filed. Trotsky fled Russia and the rest is history.
