Okay. Darwin’s Theory – Animals and plants Evolve through a process called ‘natural selection’ – Imagine a giraffe- a giraffe with a longer neck will be able to eat more leaves (as it will be able to reach them), giving it a better chance to survive. But a giraffe with a shorter neck will have less chance to survive. Slowly, the type of animal better suited to its environment will reproduce more and more animals like itself and over time the species will change to become better. Lamarck’s theory -a giraffe’s neck (according to lamarck) will stretch throughout its life and pass this on to its offspring. botht theories are basically the same apart from one thing >Lamarck believed that evolution is because of changes that happen through an animals life and passing this on. >Darwin believed evolution is because of animals dying out because of flaws.
