Back in the time of the Civil War, America split into two sections, the North and the South. One of the Souths generals was Jefferson Davis. He seemed to be influenced by his father and grandfather, as they were both soldiers in the army or navy. Even his uncles were soldiers, and they all fought in the Revolutionary Way. He grew up to have important roles in the military, as well as the government. For the Civil War, he fought for what he thought he believed was right. He felt blacks were made for slaves, and he didnt want anything to change. I believe that in his childhood, seeing his father and uncles fighting in the war, fighting for their own freedom and for believing in what they wanted to. He may have felt that he had to do the same. Question #2: What was it like to be a refugee during the Civil War? To be a refugee in the Civil War was a terrible thing to be. Of course, they did this for their own protection, but it was an awful situation. The Civil War scared people terribly.
