The oil represents the Spirit of Truth and the Spirit has been promised to His people who are serving Him totally. The Parable of the virgins represents His professed people in the very last part of time. The wise virgins have listened to the Spirit and have extra strength and power to take them through to the end. This is the out pouring of the Latter Rain that the sincere will receive, but that the unwise will say isn’t important, but at the last moment they realize there is something to what the wise have been trying to tell them, but it is too late. The Spirit was poured out on all people, but it was up to each individual to accept or reject the Spirits teachings.
