What was Op-Art?
An abbreviation of Optical Art, this 1950s/early-1960s movement employed abstract black and white geometric patterns to produce a number of optical effects on the viewer’s perception. It emerged simultaneously in New York and London during the mid-1950s and remained the leading avant-garde movement until the late 1960s.
