What was the Cult Hero project?
In 1979, The Cure got together with a bunch of friends and decided to make a single. They called themselves “Cult Hero”. Led by a postman from Horley, England named Frank Bell, as well as Simon Gallup, Porl Thompson, and Robert’s two sisters, they recorded “I’m a Cult Hero” and “I Dig You”. It was a one-off effort. They played one show in March 1980.
