The Space Shuttle Columbia NEVER exploded. It broke up high in the sky over the state of Texas. On Feb 1, 2003 at about 9 AM EDT. Not too sure on the time but am completely sure on the date, as I was at the Denver Airport heading to KSC in Fl. Hoping to have a close look at the ship. Sad day to be in and around that area of Florida or anyway in the USA. RIP crew. I hope this answers your question. Take care.
