What Was The Eastman Kodak Company?
The Eastman Kodak Company was a U.S. manufacturer of film, cameras and other photographic supplies. It was incorporated in Rochester, New York in 1901 as the successor to the business originally founded in 1880 by George Eastman, whose innovations included perfection of a process for making dry plates, roll film (in 1884), and the popular Kodak camera (in 1888). The Kodak camera was the first camera that was simple and portable enough to appeal to large numbers of amateur photographers. Its later innovations included the first home-movie equipment, the easy-to-use Kodachrome color slide film, the cartridge-loaded Instamatic cameras, and the highly automatic Disc cameras. Kodak cameras are so popular today, that they are know and used by millions and millions of people from all around the world. Over the years, they have evolved into cameras that people use to make memories that last a life time.
