What was the impact of the yalta treaty on refugees?
I don’t know directly, but the Yalta Conference pretty much gave over much of, if not all of Eastern Europe to the Soviets under Stalin. But I don’t know if that meant more refugees fled Eastern Europe for places like the UK or US, or if Stalin run governments forced them to stay. Eventually they did tend to force people to stay in their countries, but at first I don’t know how many could leave. There were millions of ‘displaced’ people in Europe at the end of the war and for some time afterwards. They eventually settled in different countries or stayed in the Communist run countries.
