What Was The Ruling That Was Established By The Plessy Versus Ferguson Case?
In the year 1896, the United States Supreme Court issued a ruling on one of its most famous cases, which contributed towards promoting the norm of segregation between the whites and the African Americans. This case was about an African American named Homer Plessy, who wanted to ride in the same railroad car as white people. Nevertheless the Supreme Court issued the verdict against Plessy’s appeal, which established the ruling that segregation was not an illegal or even an immoral practice in the United States, a country, which ironically blew the trumpet of democracy even while all these injustices were taking place in their own land. The Supreme Court clearly granted states to pass segregation laws, which would create schisms of white people and African Americans. The ironic aspect of all of these laws was the fact that these laws were passed in the same country whose establishment lied on the foundation of the principle that all men are created equal, something that was in pure disha
