answered by VL fan, Selina: Vivien didn't like kissing Clark Gable because of his bad breath. (He had false teeth). However they got on very well. He taught her backgammon and she then beat him at every game. She taught him chinese checkers. He was seeing Carol Lombard at the time, and they were very much in love. VL fan Dolores Treadway adds there may have been a little animosity between Leigh & Gable: but he was for the director Victor Fleming - while Vivien favored George Cukor.
