What were some slang terms of the 1930s?

We have created verbal jargon through the years and I am often surprised to see this “new language” in dictionaries. Certain terminology has become acceptable. Religion Q: What were the main religions in the 30s? A: We had the same churches, primarily Anglican, United, Presbyterian and Roman Catholic. The congregations in each were devout and attending was part of Sunday (at least in our household). The churches were not as liberal as they are at present. There sometimes would be a little animosity between the different sects. The Roman Catholic service was usually done in Latin.
