What were the differences between the lives of rich and poor people in Tudor times?
A hands-on session in which children can learn about everyday Tudor Life. We look at trade, domestic life, clothing, housing and comparing the lives of rich and poor Tudor people. The class will explore the Folk Museum building, which was originally a Tudor merchant’s house. Children will be able to see fine wall paintings and evidence of how a Tudor house was built. Children will also have the opportunity of dressing up in Tudor costume and handling reproduction period objects. Tudor Trail in conjunction with Gloucester Cathedral This is where Tudor history comes to life! Find out what was happening in Gloucester when King Henry the VIII and Queen Anne visited it. The session starts with a talk about Henry VIII and his influence on the life of monks of St Peter’s Abbey. The children then dress as monks and process to the Chapter House where they role-play a Chapter Meeting.
