All studies showing any negative effects from water fluoridation in humans were considered for inclusion in the review. Studies investigating the association of water fluoride level with dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis, cancer incidence and mortality, mortality, Down’s syndrome, hip and bone fracture, intelligence and thyroid disorders were identified for inclusion in the review.
