What were the similarities between Hitler and Stalins Rule?
Both hated the rich mercantile classes and aristocracy (both communism and national socialism are forms of socialism). Both believed in leaders being a part of the people, not a separate elite class. Both relied on secret police to enforce their ideologies and remove opponents. Both oversaw concentration camps for political dissidents. Both targeted religious groups – Hitler the jews and Stalin the Orthodox christians. Both wished to expand their “empires” as well as their ideology. Both were fascist in the sense that they believed in centralised power and society run as a police state; both wore uniforms as part of their daily dress. Both believed in the idea of state as teacher, neither would allow home schooling as that might allow ideas not approved by the state to be taught to children. Home schooling is still illegal in Germany today as a result. Both regarded the family and the worker as most important. Neither would tolerate any opinion other than their own or any form of disse
