What were the team goals of the fall season and the spring season?
PINKERTON- In the fall season, we want to incorporate the rookies into the program and get everyone to use the same technical models. There are many different styles of rowing, but boats only go fast when it is all done together. It is difficult for our team in the fall because we start school so late, early October. This past year we went to the Head of the Lake to get a feel of what we would be up against in the spring. The goal for the spring was to qualify for Nationals and break seven minutes. In order to break seven minutes, we felt we needed to go about 4.7 meters per second. We did that at PCRC’s and the exciting part of training these past two weeks is that we have seen times of 5.0 and even 5.8 in our speed work. That is almost a whole meter per second faster than our average race pace. Q- Can you discuss some of the individuals on the women’s crew team?
