What were three religious beliefs of the Greeks?

I do know they originally didn’t believe in a hell or heaven, that there was only Hades, which was a dismal place with no joy for the dead. Later they changed to believe in a type of paradise where those that exemplified a specific trait important to Greeks went (such as Helen, Hercules, Achilles, etc.) They believed the Gods would take mortal form and move among man to reward/punish certain behaviours. The main story I remember about this is of Zeus and Hermes doing this one time. They came to a rich house and were denied hospitality. They came to a poor house where the old couple gave of all they had, though it was not much. When Zeus and Hermes again took their Godly forms, they destroyed the rich and rewarded the poor. This story directly reflects the importance Greeks placed on hospitality. Also – they had a big thing with hubris. They believed that both mortals and immortals were subject to dire consequences when guilty of hubris.
