The most popular set up is 5.1 home theater which consists on center, left and right front speakers, left and right rear speakers and subwoofer. The ideal location should be as follows. As the Center speaker handles all dialog and music vocals should be place right above or below the television screen. The two front speakers carried much of the sound and should be placed at ears level and to the right and left of the television screen making a perfect triangle between these two speakers and listener. The Rear speakers carry background sound. These two speakers should be placed behind the listener and about 2.5 feet above ears level. The Subwoofer carries the lowest bass and produces a rumbling effect. It can be placed anywhere space permits.
