No way is global warming caused by humans going to be sufficient to end the Cenozoic era. By 2050 the effects of global warming is going to make life on the Earth very unpleasant for humans. Methane gas levels are increasing again. Methane is 20 times more of a green house gas then Carbon Dioxide. Nobody knows at what point the Earth’s temperature control feed back loop will fail. But even so this is NOT going to result in mass extinctions. Humans have done a reasonable job in taking out a few species by destroying habitats and introducing foreign species into other habitats. All Global warming is going to do is take out a few more species one of which is likely to be humans since humans are a rather delicate species. About 74,000 years ago the super volcano Toba in Indonesia blew causing the Earth to go into an ice age.
