Danica wrecks on Lap 68 of Nationwide race By BUDDY SHACKLETTE Staff Writer In her NASCAR debut Danica Patrick stayed out of trouble for more than half of the race before being left with no place to go in a Lap 68 incident today in the DRIVE4COPD 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Patrick, starting her first Nationwide Series race, rolled off out of the 15th starting position and was running in the middle of the pack when some cars in front of her made contact in the tri-oval and left her no place to go. Despite 12 wrecked cars on the track, the IZOD IndyCar regular nearly missed it all before her right-front fender made contact with the outside wall and came to rest in the infield grass. Patrick re-fired the car and drove it around to pit road to be serviced, but the damage was so severe that it had to be taken to the garage are for repairs.
