SpeedBum was right in saying that it would be catastrophic, but wrong about the seasons. The seasons would be extreme. As others have mentioned, the sun would be directly over the poles during their summer solstices. The entire northern hemisphere would be in darkness for up to six months. Then the southern hemisphere. This would have a disastrous effect on vegetation. There would be severe melting of the polar ice caps during their summer and this would also cause world-wide devastation due to flooding of coastal areas. It is likely that every ecosystem on earth would be in danger of extinction. Also, because of the extreme temperature changes from north to south, there would be colossal storms, like nothing we have ever seen before. And just in case you are asking this because you heard somewhere that it is going to happen, relax. It isn’t. This just doesn’t happen to planets.
