What the final Curriculum looks like will depend on what changes to draft documents are made as a consequence of the consultation process. Changes will be made and final curriculum is scheduled to be published in August for K-10 and by October for Years 11-12. There have been a series of papers leading up to the writing of the drafts of the Australian History Curriculum. The latest of these; The shape of the Australian curriculum, commonly called the “shaping paper”, was developed after an earlier period of consultation and is considered to be the blueprint for the Australian History curriculum. When will the new curriculum be implemented? The Commonwealth, State and Territory governments have agreed that Australian curriculum for first phase subjects will be implemented by 2013. A timetable for implementation in New South Wales will not be developed until the drafts have been analysed and it is clear how much work is involved in shifting from our current syllabuses to the new curricul
