What will United Way of Nevada County do with the money raised?
United Way of Nevada County raises money for nineteen agencies that deliver services in the eight highest priority areas this community has identified (as surveyed in the Community Assessment Project 2001). These areas are: AFFORDABLE HOUSING, EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL TRAINING, WAGES & WORK OPPORTUNITIES, SOCIAL/RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, FAMILY VIOLENCE, HEALTH SERVICES AVAILABILITY, TRANSPORTATION, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE. Chances are that some of your employees have benefited either directly or indirectly from one or more of the programs provided by one of our agencies. They may receive daycare assistance from Sierra Children’s Services, or may have called Helpline to find services for a neighbor in need.
