What work do students need to complete in order to receive academic credit for the internship?
In addition to completing 150 hours of paid or unpaid work, students are required to read Writing a Professional Life: Stories of Technical Communications On and Off the Job. They are also required to post weekly to the internship course electronic bulletin board. Their weekly post should list their internship activities and their reflections on the internship experience. If there are other students enrolled in the internship course at the same time, students should read and respond to the items posted by their classmates. At the end of the internship semester, students compile and present a portfolio of their work.
