Lomotil is a good drug but be aware, it has a small amount of opium in it and that’s what is supposed to stop the diarrhea. Have you been on an antibiotic lately. If you have, antibiotics can cause some serious problems with the bowels. One of them is called C-diff. You will become very dehydrated if you don’t start drinking juices like gatorade which will replace the electrolytes you lost. I am an RN as well for 30 yrs. I have seen what serious diarrhea can do to people. There are a lot of unanswered questions Bottom line, you need to see the doctor. If you don’t have insurance, there are clinics that give free care. You have to find one in your area but this is something that should be taken lightly. Hope you feel better soon.
