What would happen if everyone in the world took all their money out of their bank accounts at the same time?
If you are talking about taking it out in cash, the banks would run out of notes and coin long, long before everybody had withdrawn their balances. So all except the first people would just have to wait. But nearly all transactions are now purely symbolic – credit cards, checks, bank transfers of one sort or another. If people used these methods, then all that would happen is that the money would do a giant game of musical chairs. Iand if youa re even moderately well off, would you like to carry your money around in cash? Thing of the great time muggers and burglars would have if they knew that everybody had theit entire net worth in cash. And Bill Gates would be crushed under the weight of his own fortune.
