You are fogetting some important factors that this scenario will NOT change. The disease from the Spaniards is already let loose on the Azetc population. Without the working to death after the Spanish conquest, you will still have at least 60% death rather than 95% death rates for Aztecs. The Aztecs still have the religious requirement that Spaniards be taken ALIVE rather than killed quickly as the Spaniards are able to do. The Aztec stone-chip edged clubs are at least as deadly as Spanish swords, but the Aztecs are restrained in how they fight in that they must have breathing captives in order to offer beating hearts on their altars. By the end of the original Cortes campaign, the Spaniards were actually wearing Aztec cotton quilted armor in place of their own because it was lighter and almost as protective.
