What would happen if the Earth stopped spinning for 2 weeks-1month?

It depends on how fast we came to a stop. At the equator the Earth is moving about 1,000 mph. If it just stopped, very bad things would happen! The ground would stop but you (and all the stuff around you) would still be moving until friction or something solid brought you to a sudden stop. The oceans would slosh out of their basins temporarily. Gravity wouldn’t be affected. That’s based on the Earth’s mass, not its spin. The Earth’s magnetic field wouldn’t be affected since its created in the outer core which would continue spinning presumably. If you could stop it too, then the field would collapse. Since the side facing the sun would heat up, and the dark side would cool down it would impact weather significantly. The differential heating and cooling is what gives us our wind which transports moisture, so storm patterns would be very different. Near the terminus between light and dark there would probably be intense weather as the heat tried to dissipate into the cooler regions. Ocea
